Police arrested 18-year-old Erick Williams and his 17-year-old girlfriend Ivy Raquel Mendoza for the murder of 17-year-old Alberto Gutierrez. A Miami Beach Police sergeant discovered the slain body of Gutierrez lying in the rear seat of his gray Honda Accord Friday morning.
According to Detective Delrish Moss of the Miami Police Department, the couple murdered Gutierrez after he appeared at Mendoza's house. Mendoza claims he was aggressive and a fight ensued between Gutierrez, her former boyfriend and Williams, her current boyfriend. "He died as a result of the fight, and then they took the body of the victim, put him in a car, his car, and then moved him to one location, left the body there for a while, so they can figure out what they were going to do."
Moss goes on to explain the reason the car was found hanging over the sea wall, next to the old Chalk's International Airline facility. "They took the body to another location whether the attempt was to push the body into the waterway," he said.
After attempting to cover up their crime, police say the two confessed to their involvement in the murder. Williams and Mendoza now face charges of first degree murder.
